Radiohead – The King of Limbs

If you’re reading this and haven’t already seen that Radiohead moved up their release date for their 8th studio album, The King of Limbs, then get on over to their site and get your hands on it!

I’ve just finished my first listen all the way through, and Radiohead continue to impress with the unique way they approach song composition.  Like on Kid A, I feel like this album is heavily IDM-influenced, heavy on off-kilter rhythms and sonic texturing.  I’m only one listen in on what will likely be many more today, and most people are still waking up and finding out about the nice surprise, so I’ll refrain from saying much more about the album for now.  I will say that the drums and percussion on this album are incredible, and that after the first listen “Morning Mister Magpie” is the standout track for me.  In addition to dropping the album, Radiohead also unveiled a music video for their new single, “Lotus Flower”:
