Monday Mixtape XXIII: We Love The Eighties

I don't know about you, but nothing says the 80s to me quite like a picture of The Cure's Robert Smith with candles.

This is a big week.  Well, upcoming weekend at least.  Virgin Mobile’s FreeFest is this weekend, so I finally get to live the dream and see LCD Soundsystem rock a stage outside.  But first, on Friday, I’ll be going with friends to see The Legwarmers at the State Theater in Falls Church, VA.  So as I look for a retro-chic outfit for the occasion, here are some solid Eighties tunes to bop along to at work.

New Order – Dreams Never End (1980)

The Clash – The Magnificent Seven (1981)

Talking Heads – This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) (1983)

Bruce Springsteen – I’m On Fire (1984)

The Smiths – The Headmaster Ritual (1985)

The Jesus And Mary Chain – Just Like Honey (1985)

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark – If You Leave (1986)

The Cure – Just Like Heaven (1987)

When In Rome – The Promise (1988)

Depeche Mode – Enjoy The Silence (1989)
