The Secret About Health Care Reform

From a fantastic post by Jonathan Chait on health care reform and the hysteria of opposition on Right and Left:

It’s a reform designed in the mold of classic moderate Republicanism, melding fiscal responsibility and compassion for the poor and sick with a series of bold experiments to nudge medicine toward efficiency.

So Progressives hate the bill because it doesn’t go far enough, kowtowing instead to moderate Republican concessions.  And Tea Partiers hate the bill… why?  The snark from Ezra Klein:

“I’ll just tell you this,” Rush Limbaugh says. “If this passes and it’s five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented — I am leaving the country. I’ll go to Costa Rica.”

You hear that, guys? Health-care reform will not only cover 30 million Americans and reduce the deficit, but it’ll also get rid of Rush Limbaugh! This is, like, the best bill ever!

Truly.  Pass the bill.
